SHORT-PRICED FAVOURITE
Rupee became probably'the hottest win favourite in the history of trotting in the National Handicap at Addington on Saturday. Rupee was boxed in for most of the race, and did well to finish third to Denbry and Our Roger. In a pool of 21,444 10s units on the win totalisator, 17,001, including 13,152 from off-course sources, were invested on Rupee. If he had wod his dividend would have been about £1 Is, less than his place dividend of £1 2s. Rupee was also a hot favourite on the doubles machine, 4356 5s tickets in a pool of 7025 being redeemed on his prospects. Denbry, the second favourite and winner of the race, had 753 tickets redeemed on his prospects.
