N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT (New Zealand Press Association). AUCKLAND, Aug. 29. Miss Sonia Cox (Otago) displayed brilliant form to retain her singles title when the New Zealand badminton championships were concluded to the Avondale College gymnasium. A* L. Scott (Otago), toe third seeded player, won the men's title by beating P. D. Skelt (Southland). Results of finals were:— Meh's Singles.—A. L. Scott (Otago) beat P. D. Skelt (Southland), 15-9, 15-3. Women’s Singles.—Miss S. Cox (Otago) beat Mrs V. Gow (Auckland), 11-1, 11-1. Men’s Doubles.—P. D. Skelt and A. T. Skelt (Southland) beat J: Lewis and H.C. Brock (Auckland), 15-12, 15-2. Women's Doubles.—Miss A. McKenzie (North Otago) and Miss E. M. Meyer (Wellington) beat Miss Cox and Mrs D. Morrison (Wanganur), 8-15, 15-12, 17-M. Mixed Doubles.—A. T. Skelt and Miss A. McKenzie beat P. D. Skelt and Miss R. Emslie (Otago), 15?10, 15-10. _ Men’s Plate.—J. Lewis beat N. Thompson (Southland), 15-6, 15-8. Women's Plates—Miss P. Catley (Auckland) beat Miss J. Catley (Auckland), 12-11, 7-11, 12-9. Junior Boys'. Singles.—R. Reid (Otago) beat N. Thompson, 15-9, 15-9. ? Junior Girls’ Singles.—Miss S. Field (Otago) beat Miss S.
