MATCH WITH MAORIS NEXT SATURDAY ONE CANTERBURY PLAYER INCLUDED In choosing the New Zetland team to play against the Maori representatives at Auckland on Saturday, the selectors have apparently taken into consideration the Ranfurly Shield game between Canterbury and Waikato on the same day, for in the 15 players and four reServes there is only one from each union—P. B. Eastgate (Canterbury) and I. J. Clarke (Waikato). Both are prop forwards, and, were members of the All Blacks who toured the British Isles last year. Of the 19 players chosen 11 played for New Zealand last year. Following is the team: — Full-back: J. W. Kelly (Auckland). Three-quarters: L. Russell (Auckland), H. Marett (Hawke’s Bay), R. A. Jarden v (W ellington). Five-eighths: J. T. Fitzgerald (Wellington), R. Archer (Otago). Half-back: L. Townsend (Otago). Back row: W. A. McCaw (Southland). Middle row: W. H. Clark (Wellington), D. Ludbrook (Otago), R. A. White (Poverty Bay), P. F. Jones (North Auckland). Front row: P. B. Eastgate (Canterbury), B. McKenzie (Auckland), I. J. Clarke (Waikato). Reserves.—Backs: S. G. Bremner (Auckland), R. Brown (Taranaki). Forwards: H. L. White (Auckland), K. P. Bagley (Manawatu).
