Departure of Aircraft.—The departure of aircraft was timed at the moment the chocks were withdrawn before taxi-ing out for take-off, said the station manager of Tasman Empire Airways, Ltd. (Mr F. G. Hill) yesterday. when an inquiry was referred to him. Mr Hill said that although the DC-6 aircraft which left Harewood on Wednesday for Sydney was not in the air until 11.20 a.m.. it had departed on time, for it left the air terminal buildings precisely at 11 a.m.
