26-14 VICTORY OVER SOUTH AUCKLAND (New Zealand Press Association) HAMILTON, August 11. In a disappointing game, England beat South Auckland by 26 points to 14 at Hamilton today. There were fewer than 300 spectators. The game was played on a firm grounds and there were plenty of opportunities for back play. South Auckland’s defence was good, low tackling being a feature, but England, with all its opportunities, did not impress as a great side. Helme and Ashcroft were easily the most impressive of England's backs, witr Burnell showing glimpses of clever play. There were several incidents of rough play. South Auckland receiving three penalties for this reason. For South Auckland King tackled exceptionally well, as did Wallace and Dow.
