CANTERBURY TEAM TO PLAY AUCKLAND
Canterbury's hockey team to play Auckland for the New Zealand Challenge Shield on Saturday, will leave for Auckland this evening. The team, which will try to regain the shield lost to Auckland in 1952, will be:— R. Johannsen; M. Clements, I. C. Pragnell: L. Lloyd, R. Cummings, R. Lapworth; D. James, E. Thomas (captain), P. Blyth, K. Cumberpatch, M. McKinnon. Reserves: P. Hanna, G, Howard. Mr R. A. Milne will "be manager of the team. Saturday’s game will be the fourth challenge this season, and if successful, Canterbury will have to defend the shield against Otago.
