ENGLAND WINS MOST POINTS
N.Z. PLACED FIFTH (Rec. 11 p.m.) VANCOUVER, August 1 The unofficial title of champion sporting country of the Commonwealth, held by Australia since 1938. has been won by England at the Vancouver Games. England has won 514 J points and Australia 3632 points. New Zealand was fifth in the points table with 1642 points. Final points were:—England, 5141; Australia, 3§S7; Canada, 339; South Africa, 2602; New Zealand, 1642; Scotland, 1031; Northern Rhodesia, 552; Wales, 46; Nigeria, 40; Pakistan. 36; Southern Rhodesia, 35; Trinidad, 33; Northern Ireland, 30; Jamaica. 19; Hong Kong, 10; Kenya, 7; Uganda, 6; British Guiana, 6; Barbados, 5; Gold Coast, 5.
