Both were let off with pace work this morning. Shaun in particular impressed by the manner in which he completed his task He has developed wellj since he raced at the Wellington meeting, and should race prominently in the hack events at Riccarton. Trentham’s remaining Riccarton candidates, Wally French and Idaho, were associated over six furlongs at threequarter pace. Both were keen to increase the speed, and pulled up well. Wally French is coming to hand rapidly, and with the benefit of a couple of gallops week, he should be at his best for the Winter Cup. Idaho has improved in the last week, but he will still require a race or two to bring him to his best condition. He will leave for Riccarton with Wally French on Monday.
