POLICE SEARCH FOR MOTORIST
The police are still looking for a motorist who failed to stop after knocking down a woman and injuring her on Saturday evening Mrs Irleen May Denny, of 166 Main South road. Sockburn, alighted from a bus at Coach Corner (the intersection of Yaldhurst and Racecourse roads) at 7.40 p.m. on Saturday. While crossing the road after the bus had moved off she was struck by a car travelling west along Yaidhurst road. She suffered head injuries, and her body and legs: were bruised and cut. Her condition is now satisfactory. Mrs Denny was wearing a light raincoat and carrying a white paper parcel when the accident occurred. She told the police that the car was lightcoloured. Any person with information that might assist in finding the ear and driver is asked to get in touch with the police.
