The weather forecast for Canterbury, issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Wellington, and dealing with the hours following the time of issue. Situation: a complex low-pressure system covers New Zealand. Forecast: moderate winds from a souther! v quarter, freshening late in the day on the coast; weather cool, with scattered Showers late in the day. Outlook: mainly fair. WEST COAST The following is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island:— Easterly winds, fresh in exposed places; fair and cool, apart from some showers in the south later. Outlook: some showers. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The day in Christchurch yesterday was overcast, with a light south-west wind and a maximum temperature of 431 degrees. At midnight, the sky was almost overcast, and a light south-west wind was blowing. The temperature was 35 degrees. The barometer was steady at 29.767 inches (1008 millibars).
