The July meeting of the Riccarton Garden Club was held yesterday at the home of Mrs P. Fotheringham. Rata street. Miss M. Powell presided and welcomed the guest speaker, Mr J. Glazebrook, who spoke on the cultivation of vegetables and showed coloured slides of some unusual vegetables. Competition results were as follows: decorative, class A: Mrs PSarjeant 1, Mrs N. Cramond 2, Mrfc K. Scott 3; class B: Mrs R. A, Ambridge 1, Mrs D. Smith 2, Mrs G Simpson 3; best bloom in the garden: Mrs S. Denton 1, Mrs Sarjeant 2, Mrs T. Uren 3. Assistant hostesses were Mrs P. Witt, Mrs Denton, Mrs Sarjeant, Mrs S. Thomas, Mrs E. Boni face and Miss I. Jones.
