KAIAPOI COUNCIL OFFICERS
NEW ACCOMMODATION PLANNED The Kaiapoi Borough Council has authorised a special committee to prepare final plans for new accommodation for its administrative staff, Reporting to the council on a proposal to extend and renovate the present offices, Cr. H. L. Oram said that the total estimate for “ a builder’s job” was £2OOO. The Mayor, Mr N. E. Kirk, said that in the light of staff changes made recently it was necessary that office accommodation should be changed. To get the most effective and efficient use of the staff it was necessary that they should be brought into the one office. To Cr. A. E. Cattermole, who asked where the money would come from, the Mayor said that there was a fund that could be used. There would be £l4OO in that account at the end of the year.
