HEAVY TRANSPORT WEIGHT LIMITS
MORE CHECKING DEVICES NOW IN USE (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON. July 20. The Transport Department is intensifying its road protection campaign In the last year the department has almost doubled the number of "loadoportable weighbridges used to check the weights of heavy transport vehicles—in use by traffic officers. Eighteen sets of the latest American loadometers have been put into opera“on m the last week or two. Transport Department officers last year made 18.699 weight checks on New Zealand’s highways, and the department put 24 new pairs of loadometers into use.
