Exchange With Russia For British Students
LONDON, July 15. The first students’ exchange scheme between Britain and Russia since World War II was postponed for 24 hours today because the Russians had not yet received their British visas. The party of 30 British students were told the news as they were about to leave in a specially chartered Viking for Prague on the first lap of their journey. , „ . They plan to spend three weeks in Russia while the Russian students visit Britain. At Prague the British group will change aeroplanes with the Russians flying to Moscow in a Soviet Aeroflot, while the Russian Party—which includes six women—proceeded to Britain in the returning Viking. The Russians will include a sightseeing tour of London in their programme. visit Windsor, the country home of Queen Elizabeth. Oxford ana Stratford-on-Avon, Shakespeare 2 home. . , ~ They will also go to Birmingham, the industrial city in central England, tour a Coventry tractor factory, and visit the Bristol docks. The British group will visit Moscow, Stalingrad, the Volga-Don Canal, Rostov-on-Don and Sochi on the Black Sea.
