N.Z. LILY SOCIETY 21 YEARS OLD
COLLECTION OF LANTERN SLIDES BEGUN More than 200 lantern slides of lilies have been brought together by the New Zealand Lily Society, which has bought a film strip and slide projector. This progress towards making a collection of lantern slides was reported to the annual meeting of the society on Friday evening by the president (Mr J. E. Saville). The society, now 21 years old, had had a very successful year, said Mr Saville. The slides are being made available to local groups. This had been a good season for setting seeds, said Mr Saville, and under the seed exchange system it was hoped to make a record distribution this year. Over 3000 packets of seeds had been sent out last year. Trophies were presented by Mrs David Crozier as follows: Deal Cup, Mr G. W. Skellerup; Ellen Crozier Cup, Mrs Jameson; Tuffrey Cup, Mr Stewart; Miss A. Prinn’s Cup, Mrs S. G. Prebble; Dr. Telford’s Mr Stewart; Mrs Prebble’s prize, Mr Prebble.
