TERRORISM IN TUNISIA
FRENCH MISSING AFTER AMBUSH TUNIS, July 15. A French officer, two Foreign Legion non-commissioned officers, and a trooper were reported missing today after a running battle with terrorists of the self-styled “Tunisian Liberation Army.” The men were missing after an ambush in southern Tunisia’s Kasserine Pass in which one French soldier was killed and three others were injured. According to French military reports the terrorists captured a machine-gun, a wireless set and three rriules. Another terrorist ambush occurred yesterday at Krezchem, about 51 miles west of Sfax. • The report said that the terrorists displayed a surprisingly heavy firepower, and also opened heavy fire on a French spotter aeroplane flying over the area. One French paratrooper was wounded. The terrorist losses are unknown.
In Morocco terrorists have ordered all Moroccans in domestic service to European families to give notice within the next fortnight. They have also threatened shopkeepers in Casablanca into keeping their shops closed for one week. One shopkeeper who ignored the threat was attacked by terrorists this morning. Terrorists in Rabat last night set fire to a French school and club, causing extensive damage.
