The weather forecast- for Canterbury, issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 27 hours following the time of issue, is:— Situation: there is a very deep de- . pression east of the South Island. • Forecast: winds from a southerly quarter, fresh on the coast; weather dull and cold, with rain. Outlook for / Sunday: occasional showers. 4 WEST COAST i The following is the forecast for the .West Coast of the South Island:— (Moderate winds; weather improving to mainly fair, but some showers probably persisting in the north; cool temperatures. Outlook for Sunday: mainly fair. '■CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was cold and showery, with a light southeast wind. The maximum temperature was 44.8 degrees.
