CHRISTCHURCH FRENCH CLUB
A mannequin parade of dresses worn in Indo-China was a feature ci a meeting of the Christchurch Frencn Club held in Hay’s lounge on Friday evening. The parade was presented b? Mr G. S. Troup, and Mr Clifton Cook played a piano accompaniment. The costumes were provided by Mrs L. GWellbrock, who arranged the para®..Mesdames Wellbrock, M. H. Franker Troup, and Vogan were mannequiMi. Mr Troup and Mrs Troup read poems by Shakespeare, Ben Jonson, Blake, ana Wordsworth which have been translated into French. A violin sonata by Le Clair. En Bateau,” by Faure, and “Le Reve W Debussy, were played by Mr Chiton Cook. He was accompanied by Jennifer Barnard. A competition was won by Mrs A Honore and Mr A. Arts. Hostesses and host for the evening were Mesdames Wellbrock, J. L. Moffat, Troup, and Mr Troup.
