NEW YORK STOCK MARKET

(Rec. 10 p.m.) NEW YORK, June 12.

The New York Stock Market closed on a strong note yesterday in its second straight recovery session after a two-day decline. Gains of one to two points were frequent in the list, and some soared sharply to around seven points. Buying came into the steel section of the market, and it soon broadened to other areas of the list including the oils, railroads, motors, and many others. In late trading there was a spurt of demand that sent some prices soaring upward and added materially to all leaders. The American Associated Press average of 60 stocks rose by one' dollar at 123 dollars and 40 cents. It gained 30 cents yesterday. Volume was quite low at 1,630.000, as it was yesterday with 1,610.000 shares traded, nearly 5.000,000 changing hands in the two days of falling prices.
