OFFICIAL FORECASTS “The Press” Special Service WELLINGTON, June 13. The weather forecast for Canterbury, issued at 9 p.m. by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, and dealing with the 27 hours following the time of issue, is: Situation: there is a deep depression south of New Zealand. Forecast: winds backing to the south-west, and showers of rain, hail, or snow spreading from the south with the southwesterly change: temperatures cold. Outlook for Tuesday: fair to cloudy. J WEST COAST ! The following is the forecast for the West Coast of the South Island:— South-west winds predominating, fresh in exposed places; weather cold and changeable, with periods of showers. Outlook for Tuesday; showers.
CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was fine and sunny, after a frost of 1 degree. There was a light south-west Wind. At midnight the sky was almost overcast, and a light north-east wind was blowing. The temperature was 38.6 degrees. The barometer was steady at 29.424 inches (996.4 millibars).
