Forecast: moderate to fresh south-west winds; occasional showers, main y near the coasc, with fair interva s; rain in the Alps: temperatures cold. Outlook for Sunday: fair. WEST COAST * The following is th« forecast for the West Coast of the South Island:— Moderate to fresh west to southwest winds: weather cold and unsettled. with periods of rain. Outlook for Sunday: showers. CHRISTCHURCH WEATHER The weather in Christchurch yesterday was cloudy, with a very light north-west wind. The maximum temperature was 61.9 degrees. At midnight the sky was almost clear, and a moderate westerly wind was blowing. The temperature was 'degrees. The barometer, at 29.305 inches (954 millibars), was rising unsteadily.
