BELGIUM LEADS BRITAIN IN THIRD ROUND (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, June 10. Last year’s European Zone champion, Belgium, led Britain by two matches to nil at the end of the first day’s play in their third round European Zone Davis Cup match at Scarborough today. Jackie Brichant beat Tony Mottram, 4-6, 6-3, 5-7, 6-2, 7-5, and Philippe Washer beat Geoff Paish, 6-3, 6-0, 6-4. In Stockholm, Sweden gained a 2-0 lead over Italy. Davisson beat Del Bello, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2, and Lennart Bergelin beat Nicola Pietangeli, 7-5, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4. BARRY LOSES IN KENT TOURNEY LONDON, June 10. The New Zealander, John Bhrry, beat E. C. Ford, of England. 6-4, 6-2, in the second match in the men’s singles in the Kent tennis championships at. Beckenham today. In the third round, however, Bob Falkenburg, the former Wimbledon champion, who now plays for Brazil, beat Barry, 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
