NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, pursuant to Section 33 of “The Underground Water Act. 1953,” that it is the intention of the Lyttelton Borough Council to present a Petition to the Governor-General praying that it be constituted the Underground Water Authority for that portion of the Heathcote County as described below. The following particulars are given: (a) The names of the constituent local authorities are the Lyttelton Borough Council and the Heathcote County Council. (b) The boundaries of the proposed area are as follows:—All that parcel of land situated in the Heathcote County, being Part of Block XVI, Christchurch Survey District, and commencing at a point at the intersection of the west side of Chapmans road and the south bank of the Heathcote river, thence in an easterly direction along the south j bank of the Heathcote river to the - intersection of the south bank of the Heathcote river and the most easterly side of Bridle Path road; thence I southerly along the east side of Bridle Path road to the intersection . of Bridle Path road and the south side of Short street: thenee westerly alone the south side of Short street to the intersection of Short street and Station road; thence northerly along the west side of Station road to the south boundary of R.S. 254; thence westerly along the south boundary of R.S. 254, to the intersection of the south boundary R.S. 254. produced, and the west side of Port Hills road; thence northerly along the west side of Port Hills road to the intersection of the west side of Port Hills road and the north side of Martindales road; thence westerly along the north side of Martindales road and the south boundary of R.S. 104; thence northerly along the west boundary of R.S. 104 and the west boundary of R.S. 966 to the intersection of the west boundary of R.S. 966 and the south side of Port Hills road; thence westerly along the south side of Port Hills road to the intersection of the south side of Port Hills road and the west side of Chapmans road; thence northerly along the west side of Chapmans road to the commencing point. (c) It is proposed that the Underground Water Authority for the Area shall be the Lyttelton Borough Council. (d) Appeals or objections to the proposed area may be lodged at the Heathcote Pumping Station, Heathcote, or at the Borough Office, Sumner road, Lyttelton.
