(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 11. A noted English preacher, Dr. W. E. Sangster, arrived m Auckland today by air in the course of an eight-month world lecture tour. He left England on January 12, and has since visited India, Ceylon, and all the States of Australia.

Dr. Sangster was minister to one of the largest congregations in Britain, at Central Hall, Westminster. He began his ministry at Central Hall on September 3, 1939. During the war, he graduated Ph.D.' from the University of London.

Commenting on the level of religious life in Britain, Dr. Sangster said that the battle for spiritual things had been difficult going for some years past, but it was believed that the turn had been reached. Many people not normally interested in religion had been challenged and arrested by the recent visit to England of ’ Billy Graham, an American evangelist. Dr. Sangster will leave for Hamilton on Tuesday, and will later spend a two-day holiday in Rotorua. From there, he will travel to Napier, Hastings, Palmerston North, Wellington, the Southern Lakes, Dunedin, Timaru, and Christchurch.
