OAKS TO SUN CAP
AUSTRALIAN JOCKEY RIDES WINNER (NJZ. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, June 4. The Australian jockey, Rae Johnston, won the Oaks Stakes at Epsom today on Sun Gap. It was a French triumph as the first three horses to finish came from France. A Royal victory seemed assured when toe Queen’s - filly. Angel Bright, swept round the corner for home in the lead, but as they started to battle up the straight the French horses took control. The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh watched the race. Angel Bright finished tenth. Result:— OAKS STAKES, A sweepstakes of £lOO, with £3OOO added. For three-year-old fillies. Weight 9-0. One mile and a half. Mme. R.
