MR MENZIES TO VISIT N.Z.

(Rec. 9 p.m.) MELBOURNE, June 6. The* Prime Minister (Mr Menzies) with Dame Pattie Menzies, their daughter, Miss Heather Menzies, and their son, Mr lan Menzies, will leave Sydney for Auckland by air on Tuesday for a holiday visit to New Zealand. Although Mr Menzies will have talks with the New Zealand Prime Minister (Mr Holland) before returning to Canberra, his visit is primarily for relaxation.

Mr Menzies feels he needs a complete rest after the strenuous election campaign that ended last week and because of prospects of a heavy budget session of Parliament with the Government only in a slender majority. Mr Menzies and his party will motor from Auckland to a fishing lodge on Lake Taupo and stay there for a fortnight. It is expected that in his talks with Mr Holland, Mr Menzies will discuss the situation in South-east Asia. He may also outline to Mr Holland the scope of security discoveries in the Petrov case and their possible effects on New Zealand.
