Mr P. R. Heydon, High Commissioner for Australia in New Zealand, will arrive in Christchurch today. He will call on the Mayor (Mr R. M. Macfarlane, M.P.) at 11 a.m. on Tuesday. He will be the guest of the Overseas League that evening, when he will speak on his experiences in Brazil.
Lieutenant-Colonel H. G. Woolier, Chief of Staff at Northern District Headquarters, is to exchange appointments with Lieutenant-Colonel R. W. Foubister. commandant of Papakura Military Camp, on August I.—(P.A.) Captain (temporary Major) N. R. Ingle, who was movements officer for the Royal tour of New Zealand, has been appointed commanding officer of the Ist Divisional Signals Regiment in addition to his present anointment of Deputy-Assistant Quartermaster General at Army Headquarters.
The appointment of Mr Alan Shirtcliffe as a member of the Little Akaloa Domain Board, in place of Mr M. P. Kay, who has resigned, is announced in the Gazette.
Mr P. P. Heller, economics advisory officer of the Civil Aviation Administration of the Air Department, has been awarded the degree of master of laws of the McGill University, Montreal. -He was awarded a Carnegie Scholarship for study at the Institute of International Air Law of the McGill University during 1952-53.
