DEVELOPMENT LOAN
SUBSCRIPTIONS NOW £3,238,000 (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 4. Subscriptions to the £30,000,000 national development loan amounted to £3,238,000 early this afternoon. The Associate Minister of Finance (Mr C. M. Bowden) announced this tonight. The response to the loan in the first few days was “very gratifying,” said Mr Bowden.
£1,305,695 INVESTED IN AUCKLAND (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 4. Auckland district subscriptions to the 1954 national development loan now exceed £1,000,000. Today, a total of 77 applications was received lor £429,695, raising the Auckland total for the first four days of the loan to £1,305,695. Most of today’s total was represented by an application for £350,000 from the Auckland Savings Bank.
