PLAIN-CLOTHES SQUADS TO BE INCREASED
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 3. Extensions to the system ofc employing plain-clothes traffic officers would be announced soon, the Minister o! Transport (Mr W. S. Goosman) said today. Traffic offenders were being caught by one variation already introduced, he said. “Two plain clothes officers have been operating in the same patrol car,” said the Minister, “Traffic offenders on the look-out for cars with a single occupant have already been caught.”
Mr J. J. B. Connor has been appointed to represent the Canterbury Chamber of Commerce at a meeting in Christchurch to consider the establishment of a road safety committee.
