NEW CHEVIOT HALL TO BE OPENED TODAY
A new memorial hall at Cheviot, which cost about £9500, will be opened today. Half of this amount was raised by public subscriptions and functions. The old hall, once part of the Cheviot Hills woolshed, formerly owned by the Hon. William (“Ready Money”) Robinson, has been incorporated in the new building. In the new hall there is a dance floor, supper room, committee and dressing rooms. Films can be shown, and indoor sports played. Rolls of honour to those who died and served in the Boer war and the two World Wars have been hung.
