Mr E. H. S. Hamilton has been reelected president of the Christchurch Citizens’ and Ratepayers’ Association. The Rev. Canon I. L. Richards has been appointed chaplain to the Christchurch Public Hospital and Sunnyside Mental Hospital. He will take up his duties in about three months. Canon Richards has been vicar; of St. Luke’s Church, Christchurch, since 1936, rural dean of central Christchurch since 1948, and honorary canon of the Christchurch Cathedral since 1953.
Canon F. O. Dawson, M.C., vicar of Putaruru, has been appointed by the Bikhop of Waikato (the Rt. Rev J. T. Holland) as Archdeacon of Piako. He will succeed Archdeacon W. G. H. I Weadon, who has retired. Educated at ■ Christ’s College, Christchurch, Archi deacon Dawson was five years at Pibi pio, later vicar of Inglewood, and for i some time vicar of the English Church at Heliopolis, Egypt.
