BOTTLES IN THE PARK
Sir, —On a recent walk through Hagley Park I was disturbed to note the prevalence of broken beer and spirit bottles. This is a serious offence and might easily result in severe cuts to any bare-footed children who play in these areas. Those who must drink alcoholic liquor in our parks and gardens would do well to take their bottles away with them, or at least leave them whole. Breaking them and scattering the glass indicates a complete lack of sense and respect for property and the safety of the public generally.—Yours, etc., LAW AND ORDER. March 25, 1954.
