Building in Halswell.—Thirty-five building permits, for buildings estimated to cost £44,165, were issued toy the Halswell County Council in February. Eighteen of the permits were for dwellings and 14 for garages. Halswell Rates.—Of £15,682 16s 4d levied in rates by the Halswell County Council, £15,580 0s 9d, representing 99.47 per cent, had been collected to March 18. it was reported to the meeting of the Halswell County Council .yesterday.
