PARADES, LARGE AND SMALL, IN RUSSIA’S CAPITAL.—Russia’s armed forces have increased by 150,000 to 4,750,000 since 1951, according to a statement made in the British House of Commons on Tuesday by the Parliamentary Secretary of the Ministry of Defence (Mr Nigel Birch). These photographs show parades, large and small, in Moscow. On the left is a view of Red Square during a May Day parade of more than 1,000,000 persons. On the right is a daily military scene, the changing of the guard at the Kremlin.
