English Philosopher’s Visit. — A leading English philosopher, Professor Gilbert Ryle. Faynflete professor of metaphysics at Oxford University, may visit New Zealand later this year under the university inter-change scheme. This was reported at a meeting of the Auckland University College Council. The council agreed to a request trom the Universitv of New Zealand to pay part of Professor Ryle’s expenses. Professor Ryle will probably give special lectures at all four university colleges. I —(P.A.)
