NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a special meeting of the Malvern County Council held on Friday, February 5, 1954, at the Council Chambers, Darfield, the following resolution was passed by way of Special Order, and it will be submitted ior confirmation at the Ordinary Meeting of the Council to be held on Friday the sth day of March, 1954, at 1.30 p.m., in the Council Chambers, Darfield. In pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in it by the Counties Act, 1920, and its amendments, the Local Bodies Loans Act, 1926, and its amendment act, 1951, the consent of the Local Government Loans Board having been given, the Malvern County Council resolves by way of Special Order as follows: (1) That the Malvern County Council authorise and proceed to raise a loan of £6OOO to be known as the Workers’ Dwellings Loan, 1953,” for the purpose of erecting or purchasing workers’ dwellings. (2) That the term of the Loan shall be 25 years at an interest rate not exceeding four pounds (£4) per centum ner annum. | I (3) That the said loan or any part thereof, together with interest thereon, shall be repaid by equal aggregate annual or half-yearly instalments. (4) The payment of such instalments shall be made in New Zealand and no such instalment shall be paid out of loan money. (5) That the security, for such installments shall be a special rate of l/21st of a penny in the pound on the rateable capital .value of all rateable property within the Malvern County. (Security only—not to be collected.) A copy of the resolution may be inspected at the Council Offices, Darfield. Under Section 3 of the Local Bodies Loans Amendment Act, 1951, a poll of ratepayers is required to be taken if 5 per cent, of the ratepayers of the district so demand in writing, delivered or sent by post to the Cojuncil before March 5, 1954.
