New Road Signs
New road signs to show where car parking is prohibited or restricted are prescribed in amending traffic regulations gazetted last night. Arrows are to indicate the limits within which the prohibition or restriction is to apply. Existing rules on the erection of compulsory stop signs are re-enacted. There is the new provision, however, that a local authority must, in addition to erecting the stop sign, mark the roadway with the word “Stop” and a line / extending from the side to the middle of the road. A prohibition is placed on the erection on or near any road of any sign so coloured as to be liable to be mistaken for a traffic sign. —(PJL)
