PAY OF HOSPITAL EMPLOYEES
APPLICATION OF COURT ORDER MINISTER ANNOUNCES EXTENSION (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON December 17. A wage increase for hospital board employees who do not automatically receive the full increase in terms of the recent Arbitration Court decision was announced tonight by the Minister of Health (Mr J. R. Marshall). The Minister said the estimated total amount of the increase received by hospital board employees would be £700,000. Full-time employees subject to the Hospital Employment Regulations would receive an extra 10 per cent, in wages from September 15, excluding remuneration in any week exceeding £l2 for an adult male, £9 for an adult female, and £7 for a junior, said the Minister. Part-time employees with annual salaries of less than £BOO would also receive increases. Other part-time employees would have their position considered later, said Mr Marshall.
