CALL FOR GENERAL ELECTION MR WALSH CHALLENGES : MR HOLLAND (N JI. Press Assoeiziticm — Copyright) Rec. 11 pm.) NEW YORK, Dec. The president of the New Zealand Federation of Labour (Mr F. P. Walsh), who is on his wav back to New Zealand by way of San Francisco, said in New York today he will challenge the New Zealand Prime Minister (Mr Holland) to hold a General Election to test the Government’s action in removing subsidies ana increasing prices immediately after an Arbitration Court wage increase award. Mr Walsh said: “The action of the Government takes awav by a stroke . of the pen a substantial percentage of ! the increase granted by the Court to ' wage and salary earners.” If Mr Holland is confident he had i the backing of the country, “I chai- : lenge him, on behalf of the Federation of T.ahour, to submit the issues to the electors and have a General Election.”
