CARE OF NYLON STOCKINGS
Faults Caused By Rough Handling (A'-Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, December 14. After investigating complaints about inferior British nylons. Mr John Abbot, secretary of a Midlands hosiery manufacturers’ association, says ninetenths of British women do*not know how to put on nylons or look after them. •'Women with rough knees are spoiling their nylons and then accusing , manufacturers of turning but inferior products.” he said. “Women blame makers for ladders, but nearly always it is the women’s bwfi fault—the nylons have been handled carelessly or hurriedly when i they were put oh. •‘Nylbns cannot be pulled on like ordinary stockings. The slightest roughness on hands or fingers will damage them. Women do not realise that after they have been doing housework their knees are likely to be rough. “This causes damage every time the nylons are put on. though it cannot be seen at first. Nails do the most i damage.’*
