TRIP TO HOBART FOR SEA CADETS
EIGHT YOUTHS TO TRAVEL IN N.Z. CRUISER (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, December 15. When H.M.N.Z.S. Black Prince visits Hobart in February to represent New Zealand at the Tasmanian 150th anniversary celebrations, she will carry eight Sea Cadets, representing the open and school units in each of the four, main centres. Four of the cadets, representing the open units in Auckland. Wellington. Christchurch, and Dunedin, will be selected by the Navy League. The school unit representatives will be chosen from nominations made by the headmasters of the schools in which units function. The final selection will be made by the Naval Officer in charge at Auckland (Captain M. L. Hardie), and by the commanding officers of the Volunteer Reserve divisions in the other three centres. . The cadets will be embarked in the Black Prince from February 5 to February 27. They will be at Hobart from February 13 to February 22. During this time the Queen will visit the city.
