HARBOUR BRIDGE LOAN
AUCKLAND GRANTED PERMISSION "The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND. November 19. The Auckland Harbour Eridge Authority’s application to raise a loan of £400,000 has been granted by the Local Government Loans Board. The loan is required to meet the authority’s present commitments and permit it to function until March 31, 1957. The authority will probably discuss the board’s letter at its next meeting. The main headings from the schedule of cost are: Freeman, Fox and Partners, balance of designing fees and expenses, £107,360; due to the Government, £54, 980; to be paid to the Post and Telegraph Department for resiting submarine cables on the line of the bridge, £29,000; balance of payment to the Auckland Harbour Board for the Port Erin reclamation, £120,830; property acquisition, £24,000; administration costs for three years, £12,000; contingencies, £10,000; cost of raising the loan, £1800; interest to be paid from the loan, £40,000.
