“Peaceful Relations Aim Of Soviet”

(Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, Nov. 8. The Russian Charge d’Affaires in London (Mr Belokhvostikov) said tonight that the Soviet people “are deeply convinced at the present time that there is no outstanding issue which could not be settled in a peaceful way on a basis of mutual, agreement.”

Deputising for the Soviet Ambassador (Mr Jfccob Malik), Who is attending the present session of the United Nations, Mr Belokhvostikov told a meeting held to mark British-Soviet friendsnip month: “The Soviet Union stands for the wide development of peaceful relations with other countries, including Great Britain. “We consider that the expansion of British and Soviet trade could result in great advantages to both countries.” Tne meeting, which was attended by about 8000 Britons and 30 Russians, was celebrating the thirty-sixth anniversary of the Soviet Union.
