The-Rev. Dr. E. D. Jarvis, of Glasgow, has been nominated as the next Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland, according to information received a by the Presbyterian Church of New Zealand. Dr. Jarvis graduated from the Uhiversity of St. Andrews-at the age of 21 with double honours, and is a ‘University Blue in Association football.—(P.A.) Mr B. H. Stinear, a geologist who has been chosen to accompany an Australian expedition to the Antarctic, left Harewood by Skymaster on Friday. Mr Stinear. a former student of Canterbury University College, has been visiting his parents at Avonside before leaving rn the expedition, which Is to last for 12 months.
