VOROSHILOV SAID TO BE ILL

MOSCOW, September 20. Marshal Voroshilov, President of the Praesidium of the Supreme Soviet and nominal head of the Soviet State, is ill. He is 72.

Reports from Moscow suggesting this say that during the last week he has been absent on three occasions which demanded his presence. Marshal Voroshilov is the last of the “old guard” trained by Stalin, of whom he was a close personal friend.
