WEST GERMAN LEGATION

ESTABLISHMENT AT WELLINGTON (New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, September 21. The Government of the Federal Republic of Western Germany is to establish a legation at Wellington soon. The Acting-Minister of External Affairs (Mr R. M. Algie) announced this today. Dr. Erich Boitze, who has oeen m the German diplomatic service since 1920, will be in charge of the legation. It is not yet known when Dr. Boitze will arrive in New Zealand.

Mr Algie said that ,for practical reasons it was not the New Zealand Government’s intention, at least for the time being, to establish a New Zealand legation in Germany. Germany has already established diplomatic posts in all other Commonwealth countries.
