APPOINTMENT OF COMMITTEE (N.Z. Press Association —Copyright) (Rec. 11 p.m.) DURBAN, Sept. 21. The South African Cricket Association has announced the appointment of a selection committee to act for the tour of the New Zealand cricket team. It will comprise Mr K. Viljoen, who managed the South African team in Australia, Messrs B. Wallace, E. W. Warner, and Dudley Nourse, a former Springbok captain. The association decided that for all interprovincial and New Zealand tour matches, the new ball rule should be amended to allow the new ball to be taken either after 200 runs scored or 65 eight-ball overs completed, which ever is the earlier. Broadhead; vice-presidents, nine were elected; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mr G. A. Milligan; club captain, Mr B. Cooper; delegate to Christchurch Suburban Cricket Association, Mr B. Cooper; honorary auditor, Mr A. F. Baker; team captain, Mr B. Cooper; vice-captain, Mr O. O. Braxton; committee. Messrs J. Chalmers, J. Kennedy, and T. Shefforc.
