Minor Fires.— The Christchurch Fire Brigade received a call at 2.42 pm. yesterday to a small fire at tne Empire Rubber Mills, Woolston, and units were sent from the central and Woolston station. The damage was very slight. At 3.44 p.m. the brigade was called to a chimney fire in a house at 18 Dampier street, occupied by Mr John Columbus. One Woolston machine attended, and no damage was done.
