SATURDAY {Before Messrs A. F. Excell. J.P., and W. A. C. McDonald, J.P.) INDECENT ASSAULT CHARGE Harrv James Pierce, aged 68, a gardener (Mr C. S. Thomas), was remanded until next Thursday on a charge of indecently assaulting a girl, aged 11 yea”, at Christchurch on or about December 10 last vear. Bail was allowed at £lOO, and a surety of £lOO. - Pierce is required to report to the police daily.
THEFT CHARGE Kenneth Maxwell Ward, aged 26. a farm labourer, was remanded until next Friday on a charge that at Rangiora on August 16 he stole an electric jug. a milk bucket, a camera, a cigarette lighter, and about 30s in money, of a total value ot about £23 15s, the property of Russell Wesley Stalker. Asking for the remand. Detective Sergeant G. W. Ally said that quite a number of other charges would be preferred against Ward. . . Ward said that he had no money, but he would like to have some legal assistance.
