HORSE SWABBED AFTER WINNING

(New Zealand Press Association) CARTERTON, August 30. The annual meeting of the Carterton Racing Club was held on Saturday in fine weather. Overnight showers made the track easy. The Fair Magic-John Halifax combination returned a doubles dividend of £29 12s for £l. „ „„ The totalisator handled £46,937 —an increase of £9382 10s on last years meeting. After the fifth race, Royal Cipher was swabbed and had a urine test taken by the club’s veterinary surgeon. Royal Cipher, owned by Mr W. M. Crystall, won the first division of the Maiden Plate Number 2.
